Christian Wenk was elected in 2007 as the national hand bike coach by the management of Swiss Paraplegic Association. He was the successor of Stefan Wilda. The Swiss hand bikers collected several Paralympics and World Championship medals during his tenure.

In 2008 – after leading the team for two years- Christian Wenk and his athletes celebrated their great success at the Paralympics in Beijing.
